OUR STORY
Carbon Medical Technologies, Inc. (formerly Advanced UroScience, Inc.) was founded in 1994 to develop permanent implantable medical devices using a proprietary pyrolytic carbon coating technology. This highly biocompatible coating is derived from carbon—a naturally occurring element in the human body—and is not recognized as foreign, making it ideal for long-term implantation.
Today, Carbon Medical Technologies (CMT) is one of only five organizations worldwide with a dedicated pyrolytic carbon coating facility, allowing us to engineer and manufacture devices that are durable, dependable, and trusted by clinicians. Over the past three decades, we’ve built a portfolio of clinically proven products that support patients, simplify procedures, and raise the standard of care across multiple specialties.
CMT operates under ISO 13485 and cGMP-compliant quality systems, maintains a validated ISO Class 7 cleanroom, and supports multiple sterilization methods. With these capabilities, we support the full product lifecycle—from development and validation to final delivery—delivering solutions that clinicians trust and patients depend on.
